Regardless of where you live or where you intend to have the wedding ceremony performed in Minnesota, you may apply for a marriage license in ANY county in Minnesota.

Once the marriage license is issued, regardless of which county issued it,  you may use it anywhere in Minnesota within six (6) months.

One or both parties to be married may apply for the license.  However, if only one party will be applying for the license, identification should be brought for BOTH parties.

If there are prior marriages that have been dissolved through dissolution or annulment, a copy of the final decree should be presented for verification at the time of application

Other information needed to complete the application includes the following:

	LEGAL NAMES OF BOTH PARTIES
	STATE OF RESIDENCE AND ADDRESS
	DATE OF BIRTH
	INFORMATION PERTAINING TO PREVIOUS MARRIAGES
	IF A MINOR, THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS
	NAMES AND DATES OF BIRTH OF CHILDREN OF THE PARTIES
	FULL NAMES THAT THE PARTIES WANT TO USE AFTER THE MARRIAGE
	SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS FOR BOTH PARTIES
