Although weddings are rich in tradition, most people who are planning a wedding are not rich. If you don't have money to burn, you will be happy to know that traditions are changing with the times and with the ever increasing costs associated with planning a wedding. Although in the past, the majority of the expenses were traditionally the responsibility of the Bride's family the trend is now leaning toward expenses being shared between the Bride and Groom and their families.
Following are some "traditional" wedding expense responsibilities that will give you some idea of how expenses were/are "traditionally" shared. Don't worry though, the wedding police will not track you down if you choose to change tradition a bit. How or even if you and your families decide to share the expenses is a decision that should be discussed together when initially establishing your wedding budget.
