WEDDING PLANNING TIMELINE AND CHECKLIST

~ WHAT TO DO 12 MONTHS OR MORE BEFORE YOUR WEDDING ~

Our Wedding Planning Timeline and Checklists cover many of the main items you will need to address during the wedding planning process. Since each wedding is unique and the specific requirements will vary from wedding to wedding you will likely find that some listed items are not needed while other items that are not listed will become part of your personal wedding planning timeline.  Although our wedding timeline and checklist is based on a 12 month wedding planning period, depending upon when you start planning your wedding, the timeline can easily be adjusted to fit your needs. 

- Tell your parents of your engagement and introduce them if they haven't met

- Announce your engagement in the local newspaper

- Set a tentative date
   (The ceremony and reception location availability and officiant schedule may affect the exact wedding date.)

- Set up a filing system or obtain wedding planning software

- Estimate the number of guests (You will need to coordinate this with your parents)

- Establish the desired style and formality of your wedding

- Establish a budget and determine how to and who will pay for the wedding expenses

- Choose your Wedding Party

- Select your Officiant and the Ceremony Location
and
- Select your Wedding Reception Venue

- Set a firm wedding date -  based on the Officiant and the Ceremony and Reception Location availability

- Establish the colors and /or theme for your wedding

- Select a Wedding Planner - if needed

- Select your Music Entertainment

- Select your Wedding Photographer and/or Wedding Videographer

- Select your Wedding Caterer
  If you are hiring beverage service separately (which can often save you money) you should check into it when you begin looking at wedding caterers.
 
- Select your Florist and your Wedding Flowers

- Shop for your Wedding Dress

- Shop for Bridal Party Dresses
